The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully[d] will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency[e] in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work (2 Cor 9: 6-8)

There are some special moments in the life of a church. Last Sunday’s Anniversary Gift Day Celebration was one. The giving was generous to the point of defying belief. It was what the bible calls “hilarious” giving. The Greek word for “cheerful” in 2 Cor 9 is “hilaros”. It means giving with an infectious and joyous disposition because your heart is already inclined and fully persuaded that this is what God wants you to do! It is cheerfulness breaking into laughter because of a will surrendered to God. That’s what the word means! And that is what you were last week!

Nothing mattered anymore except that God be lifted up and glorified! The deafening cheer and applause drowned out all but the initial bit of the final figure announced. How amazing is that! You gave1.92 million ringgit for a one-morning target of two million! It was a walk of faith when our nation and the world are caught up in fear. The sum is way above for our church size! I am deeply humbled. I know not of any churches with such “hilarious” one morning per capita giving. It was sacrificial to the point of pain for many. And yet we were so happy. Happy that we obeyed our Father. Happy that we could give and bless others. And we still have until 31October before the final sum comes in! This has been an amazing faith-giving journey for our next generation auditorium and for the poor, the needy and the mission fields!

And everyone played their part from the ushering team to the floor team, the office staff to the counting team, the media, the skycom orchestra, the worship team and the kidszone team and every Skyliner who also invited their friends. This past week has been nothing short of miraculous, nothing short of amazing! Thank you!!!
