FIRST SHOW THEM WHY… 先告诉他们为什么…

The One you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you (Acts 17:23)

The world always needs to know why before they buy. Why do I need the Gospel? No one wants anything until they know why they need it. So, before you can tell them the answer, you’ve got to show them the need. The late Steve Jobs was a master at this. At an Apple conference, he went onstage and said: “I’ve got three revolutionary products today. One is an amazing communication device that will change the way we connect with the world. One is an interfacing graphic that will change the entire future of gaming. One is a computer that will change the way we access knowledge, information, and technology. When everyone was on the edge of their seats, he took a single object out his pocket, and held it up. “The truth is, it’s one device: the iPhone.” Of course the crowd went wild. He set up the needs. Three needs, and then he provided the answer.

Increasingly, before people will listen to the gospel today, they need to know why they need a Saviour. Taking them down the road of sin, hell, and salvation, and you will put off most post-modern millennials. Their ultimate pursuit is happiness, and their basic philosophy in life is made up of common sense, science, affluence, feel-good self, and freedom. A touch of social concern completes the picture. So, who needs “God”?

Challenge them. Is all that you see around you all that there is? Do you think you are a product of chance? Do you think your life has meaning beyond this life? If so why? If not, why not? Do you ask these questions to yourself sometimes? Where do you think the answers are to be found? What if I were to tell you that someone has shown there is life after this life? Would you allow me to take three minutes to share with you why God is real, why He loves you, and what Jesus has done for you? Questions show up the deep unchanging need of every human heart. Then, you share the answers.

很多时候人们在购物之前,通常在买一件东西之前人们都自然会要知道是为了什么。他门也会问“为什么我需要福音”?除非他们明白了为什么有需要,不然他们什么都不会要。所以在给他们建议方案之前,你必须得先让他们看见需要。已故史蒂夫·乔布斯是这方面的大师。在苹果公司一次的产品发布会上,他上台说:“我今天带来了三个革命性的新产品。一个是将会改变我们与全世界联系方式,令人惊叹的通讯配备;一个则是将会彻底改变电子游戏将来发展的视觉界面;另一个是将会改变我们通接知识,资讯和科技的电脑。当在座的每个人正期待着一睹他所说的产品时,他便从口袋中取出一件物品并然后高举说: “事实上,就只有一件产品, 那就是 iPhone”。 可想而知,全场观众席瞬间情绪高涨爆发而激动了起来!他向他们显示出了需要。他先提出三项需要,然后才把答案揭盅。

在现今社会,越来越多人在决定他们是否要听福音之前,都会先要理清为何他们需要一位救世主。若把罪、地狱和救恩有关带入话题,对绝大多数的后现代 “千禧儿” 们来说是相当反感的。他们一生的终极追求是快乐,而他们生命的基本哲学是常识、科学、财富、自我感觉良好和自由组成。以上所说的,再加上一点对社会的关注,那他们的生命便完美了。所以说,谁需要“上帝”呢?

尝试挑战他们的思维!问一问他们,你所看见的人事物,就仅此而已吗?你的存在只是偶然吗?有否想过,你的生命拥有远超过这世界的意义?如果有,那为何?如果没有,哪又为何?你是否也会在某些时候思考这些问题呢?你认为在哪里可以寻找到这些答案呢?如果我告诉你,已有人告诉我们死后仍有另一个生命等待着我们,你会如何?你是否愿意给我三分钟的时间,让我与你分享为何上帝是真实的、为何祂那么爱你、和耶稣已经为你所成就的事呢?提问能把人那藏于内心深处、不变的需要表露出来。而那时,你就可以分享答案了。
