God’s goodness, miracle and power

You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

(Ps16: 6,11)

We, of all people, are the most blessed on earth. We have the Lord as our guide and counsel. When we make him our portion and drink from the cup of His wisdom, then   the “boundary lines will fall for us in pleasant places.” That’s His goodness. What does it mean for our boundaries to fall in pleasant places? It means God will give us the best of His blessings. We will not lose out. It means even in the dark night when things are not clear, He will still counsel our hearts if we will set Him above all our problems (Ps 16:8). It means: “all things (will) work together for good” (Rom 8:28).

The greatest joy in our life is to know God’s pleasure as we walk the paths of life. This is what the psalmist says as he lives each day. “In your presence is fullness of joy.” The greatest gift that I am given daily is to experience the joy of the Lord. When I experience His joy I am never tired. Passion, life, energy, vibrancy flow through me. I can be travelling and speaking in many places, but I am aware I am in His perfect will. His pleasure is upon me! Even in the midst of challenges or hardship, this is my deep confidence: “He will see me through!” Why? Because the psalmist says: “At your right hand are pleasures evermore”.

At your right hand! That is the hand of power and authority! When the king is on the throne, he commands with his right hand. With it he silences the enemy, he orders the slaves to be killed or imprisoned, and he pardons and releases the guilty one. Just by his right hand! That is power. And this is what God wants to do in our church: to show His goodness by signs and wonder in our lives. To heal sickness, cast out demons, break the power of addiction and to give hope to all who are oppressed by the devil. “For at your right hand are pleasures evermore!”
