Faith Story by a Skyliner
I made a bold decision during a very uncertain and challenging time – I left my job in the midst of the Covid-19 recession, and a potential worldwide lockdown.
Long before all the outbreak and downturn unfolded, I had a strong intuition that my time and season at my workplace would be coming to an end. On several occasions and through different channels, God gave me some signs that He was going to shift me. So I trusted Him and moved on. There were times I wondered if I had really heard from God. Was I being unwise? But even though I did not know where I would be heading to exactly, I keep believing that the Lord is faithful.
During the few months when I was unemployed, I received invitations from several companies for interviews on some available posts. I surrendered to the Lord’s leading, and never ceased praying. I prayed to Him to only open the one door where He wants me to be, so that I can be at the right place, and be completely aligned with Him.
A few weeks later, one of the institutions rang me and told me that I’d been selected and that they were offering me the position. To my amazement, it was not only the provision of a job; rather, it was also a promotion. The corporate rank and paygrade offered is higher than the previous company. Praise God!
I am overjoyed, but not euphoric. Instead, I am in awe and trembling because I am reminded of what Jesus said “To whom much is given, much is required”. This is the field where He has assigned me to steward, for His name, and for His glory.
We, as God’s children, have a portion from Him. In His Kairos moment He will provide and open the right door. Trust Him. To God be the glory!
