Faith Story by Yee Shien
I just left my previous job at the end of May, just in time for the Leaders & Anchors Conference with Rev. Ong Sek Leang!
The conference was powerful, and many were moved by the Holy Spirit. And in that conference, I was serving alongside many others as the team who’d catch those who would fall under the power of the Holy Spirit. There were also the morning sessions where the leaders, anchors, and those who were serving would get a chance to be prayed for, and all of us in the “catching team” were still serving. In the morning sessions, God was still moving, and people were still getting slain. And so, honestly, I was a little hesitant to get prayed for, thinking, “It’s okay lah, no need to get prayed for lah, I’ll just keep catching people lah, it’s okay.”
But hey, God is good. And God never leaves us without a touch and a word from Him, because He is such a personal God.
So, I remember that time, I had three different people coming to me, urging me to go and get prayed for. The first person came to me, and I said, “Urmm… I don’t know… it’s okay lahhh…”, because I reckon more help to catch was still needed. And then the second person came to me, and I was a little stopped in my tracks, wondering, “Woah, okay God, are you trying to get me to be prayed for or something? Is there something You want to say?” But I still haven’t moved as I was still unsure. And then the third person came to me, and said, “Go and get prayed for, it’s okay, we’ve got this, we can manage.”
So, I finally went to receive prayer. And true enough, God had things to say to me – many amazing things. One of them was my career. God spoke to me through Rev. Ong Sek Leang, saying, “In a few weeks, the door will be opened. And the amount may seem small at first, but it will take you to where you need to be.” As I think of it now, that’s actually the first prophecy I’ve received concerning the future. I find this kind of prophecy a little scary sometimes, because I don’t fully know what to expect or how to be or how to go about things after receiving such a word. But one thing I do know is that His word always comes to pass. And true enough, 2 weeks after the conference, I got my first client for my freelance career! Praise God!
I am reminded again of what the Bible says about God in Isaiah 55:11: His Word that goes forth from His mouth will not return to Him void, but shall accomplish what He pleases, and shall prosper in the thing for which He sent it.
To close, I would like to leave you with these two encouragements:
- Every word that He speaks will not return to Him void, but will accomplish all that He pleases and shall prosper in the thing for which He sent it. His word will always come to pass. His word never fails.
- Encourage your brothers and sisters in the Lord – be it a kind word, or even to go and get prayed for – and don’t be discouraged if you don’t see anything happening, because sometimes maybe you’re the first or second person, when it could take a third person to finally get someone moving to receive what God has for them – like it did for me.
Amen! Glory to God!
